Kenya has recorded its second Ebola death — a 65-year-old woman linked to its first case — as the outbreak spreads across four African countries.
- Kenya's health ministry confirmed a 65-year-old woman, a close family member of the first victim, died after developing symptoms while in quarantine on 13 October.
- The health ministry said seven other patients are receiving treatment at two isolation facilities, with all nine confirmed cases within one cluster and no community spread.
- Nigeria's health minister Ali Pate said the country's single confirmed Ebola case appears genetically related to the Kenya strain, with further testing under way.
- Uganda announced travellers with a history of travel to DR Congo would not be permitted to transit through the country.
