Edgar Grospiron has left the presidency of the 2030 French Alps Winter Olympics organizing committee after 18 months marked by internal turmoil and budget cuts.
- Grospiron's departure was confirmed at the committee's executive board meeting on Thursday, with no replacement named.
- Grospiron said on LinkedIn his decision followed "months of tension" and that the conditions were not met for him to continue.
- The committee lost chief executive Cyril Linette in February, who cited "insurmountable disagreements" with Grospiron, following other resignations.
- The committee shelved its Nice ice-sports hub in May after mayor Eric Ciotti refused to convert the stadium, moving ice events to Lyon.
