Clothing retailers begin early summer discounts before official sales season

Khaled Fayed, head of the ready-made clothing division, said stores have launched early promotions on summer apparel ahead of the official sales start date.

• Clothing shops have started offering discounts on summer garments before the official summer sales period begins, according to Khaled Fayed.
• Fayed said the early offers aim to stimulate buying amid what he described as a relative market slowdown linked to high school exam season.
• Fayed stated the official summer sales season is expected to begin on August 5.
• Fayed said promotions include discounts on individual items, multi-piece deals, and "buy two, get one free" offers.
