The Chicago Stars have hired former USWNT coach Vlatko Andonovski as chief soccer officer, days after his Kansas City Current contract was terminated.
- Andonovski's hire was announced Thursday, ten days after the Kansas City Current mutually terminated his sporting director contract, calling the role "not the right fit."
- The Stars, in last place for a second straight season, fired general manager Richard Feuz in May and head coach Martin Sjögren in August.
- Andonovski said he spoke with six NWSL teams about similar roles and chose Chicago in part because of majority owner Laura Ricketts.
- His next tasks include appointing a technical director and head coach, and improving the roster for 2027.
