Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and numerous AI workers have dismissed warnings that artificial intelligence could wipe out humanity, rejecting claims raised by former Anthropic employee Jacob Coxon.
- Huang said the probability of human extinction caused by AI by 2030 stands at "zero percent" and rejected calls to slow AI development or impose new regulations.
- Employees of OpenAI, Meta and DeepMind told the BBC anonymously they were skeptical of the extinction claims, whose proponents offered no details of how they would unfold.
- Colin Fraser, a data scientist at Meta, wrote on social media that there is no real evidence AI models would inevitably pursue a goal leading to human death.
- More than 100 AI workers signed a letter Friday supporting independent outside evaluators inside major AI labs, and Anthropic announced it would bring in evaluators from Faculty.
