• Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the creation of a national memorial to victims of the 1943–45 Volhynia massacre, which Poland says killed 100,000 ethnic Poles.
• Tusk urged Ukraine to "embrace this truth" about the events if it wants to join the European Union.
• Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is working to honestly establish the facts and that both countries face a common threat from Russia.
• Last month, Polish President Karol Nawrocki stripped Zelensky of Poland's highest state honor after Zelensky named a Ukrainian military unit after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.
