Egypt Court Hears Trial of Ismail Dollar in Mokattam Brawl Case

Egypt's Mokattam Misdemeanor Court has begun hearing the trial of Ismail Dollar and four others accused of bullying and power display.

• Investigators referred Dollar and others to trial over a brawl in Mokattam's café district stemming from rental value disputes.
• Tenant Samer al-Sabbagh told investigators the company demanded unlawful rent increases and cut power after he challenged them in court.
• Dollar denied the charges, saying he attended on a phone request to inspect the site and quote for his security firm.
• A South Cairo Electricity report found the company had no legal right to access the state-owned transformer room.
