Egypt's defense minister decorates military leaders completing service

Egyptian Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Ashraf Salem Zaher presided over a ceremony honoring armed forces leaders who completed their service as of July 2026.

• Zaher decorated the honorees with the Order of the Republic, Second Class, approved by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
• Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Ahmed Khalifa and commanders of the main branches attended the ceremony.
• The most senior honoree expressed pride in the military and said the armed forces would remain rich in capabilities and a field of giving.
• Zaher conveyed President Sisi's greetings and appreciation to the honorees.
