US officials demanded action after Israeli settlers attacked American photojournalist Heidi Levine during an olive harvest in the occupied West Bank.
- Israeli settlers assaulted Heidi Levine and several Palestinians on Friday in Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, beating her and stealing her passport, phone, wallet, and equipment.
- Levine, 64, underwent surgery on her nearly detached finger and suffered a broken rib, multiple broken vertebrae, and lacerations.
- Ambassador Mike Huckabee demanded Israel prosecute and jail those responsible, calling the attack a "despicable act of terror."
- Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington has asked Israel to take strict action against settler violence; Netanyahu claimed Palestinians or "far-left" activists may have been responsible.
