Man arrested for killing cat to scare daughter in Gharbiya

Egyptian police have arrested a man who beat a cat to death, saying he did so to frighten his daughter away from the animal.

• The Interior Ministry identified the suspect after a video of the assault circulated online.
• The man confessed to beating the cat until it died in the Al-Mahalla Al-Kubra area.
• He stated that he committed the act because his daughter was afraid of the cat near their home.
• Legal proceedings have been initiated.
