Bayern Munich have backed winger Michael Olise after his terse post-match interview following the club's Champions League win drew accusations of disrespect from journalists.
- Olise scored twice and set up Harry Kane in Bayern's 5-0 Champions League win over Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, earning man-of-the-match honours.
- In a one-minute DAZN post-match interview, Olise answered in a few words, saying "I don't know" when asked how he felt and "I shoot the ball, then it goes in or it doesn't" about his goal.
- Bayern sporting director Max Eberl defended Olise at a press conference on Saturday, saying off-pitch matters are not his strength and that the club cares only about his abilities on the pitch.
- Coach Vincent Kompany said neither sponsors nor journalists are harmed by Olise's style, adding that "everyone enjoys it."
