Zack Coughlan, 23, has been sentenced to life with a minimum term of 28 years for murdering Jamie Collins at their Filton home.
- Coughlan changed his plea to guilty on Tuesday, after prosecutors described the attack as a "carefully planned and cold-blooded execution."
- Collins was ambushed on 8 April after cycling home from UWE Bristol; Coughlan left him dying in an alleyway and cycled away on his housemate's bike.
- Judge Linden rejected Coughlan's claim that Collins had threatened him, saying his conviction was inevitable.
- Collins's family said Coughlan "pretended to help Jamie when in fact he is responsible for killing him."
