Dame Caroline Dinenage, chair of the digital, culture, media and sport committee, said it wants to establish who chooses the UK's entrant, on what basis, and whether its record stems from song choice or weak performance.
-
The committee is expected to hear evidence from BBC chiefs and music industry experts at hearings held over the coming months, as part of its State of Play inquiry.

The UK finished last at the 2026 contest, with Sam Battle, performing as Look Mum No Computer, scoring one point for his song "Eins, Zwei, Drei".
-
Bulgaria won the 2026 contest with singer Dara's song "Bangaranga", a first victory since the country joined Eurovision in 2005.
