(opens the publisher’s site)Egypt team manager Ibrahim Hassan has announced midfielder Hamdi Fathi will miss the national team camp due to injury, joining two other absentees.
- Ibrahim Hassan confirmed Fathi will not join the camp after sustaining an injury with his Qatari club Al-Wakrah.
- Fathi joins Mahmoud Trezeguet and Yasser Ibrahim, both sidelined with thigh and ankle injuries respectively.
- Egypt faces Angola on 25 September and South Sudan on 29 September in AFCON 2027 qualifiers, followed by a friendly against South Africa on 4 October.
- Egypt coach Hossam Hassan called up Frosinone defender Omar Fayed to replace the injured Hamdi Fathi, handing him a first senior call-up.
