Qatar PM announces solar plant project during Lebanon visit

Qatar's prime minister, visiting Beirut, announced a major solar power plant for Lebanon and urged Israel's withdrawal from occupied southern territory.

• QatarEnergy and TotalEnergies agreed to jointly develop a solar power plant in Lebanon as the initial energy project.
• Sheikh Mohammed said Israel should withdraw from Lebanon and cease its attacks, with Qatar coordinating with the US on southern reconstruction.
• Prime Minister Salam said Qatar will fund, implement and activate the project without any cost to the Lebanese state.
• President Aoun condemned attacks on Gulf states, including the recent assault on Saudi Arabia.
