A medical team at Menoufia University's National Liver Institute has removed a rare fetal formation from the stomach of an 18-month-old girl.
- The girl arrived at the institute with gastrointestinal bleeding, where endoscopy revealed an unusual mass in her stomach.
- Further evaluation showed the mass contained a malformed fetal formation, a rare condition medically termed "fetus in fetu."
- A surgical team performed a successful exploratory operation, extracting the mass and the fetal formation inside it.
- Institute dean Osama Hegazy said the girl's health is stable and she remains under medical follow-up.
