(opens the publisher’s site)Al-Nassr beat Al-Faisaly 3-1 on Friday, but a dispute has erupted over whether Cristiano Ronaldo's goal was his or an own goal.
- FIFA's website registered the goal as an own goal by defender André Giroto, keeping Ronaldo's career tally at 981.
- The Saudi Pro League's website credited the goal to Ronaldo, recording it as his 982nd.
- Sami Al-Jaber said replays show Giroto, whose touch changed the ball's direction, is the scorer.
- Mohammed Noor compared the incident to Ronaldo's disputed 2022 World Cup goal, which was credited to Bruno Fernandes.
