Heavy rains triggered flash floods across Tripoli on Tuesday, killing at least three people, flooding streets and homes, and closing roads and public facilities.
- Flash floods swept Tripoli and parts of Libya's western coast, submerging neighborhoods, trapping families in homes, and closing a main road after a land collapse.
- Red Crescent spokesperson Hamdi al-Nahili confirmed one death from electrocution, said the toll was not final, and warned residents to stay away from submerged power lines.
- Tripoli University suspended classes, Republic Bank halted operations, and authorities authorized home prayers with muezzins calling "pray in your homes."
- Souq al-Jum'ah municipality declared its area a disaster zone and blamed the central government for years of negligence and temporary fixes behind the flooding.
- Rescue teams recovered a second man's body from his car, raising the flood death toll in Tripoli to two.
- The General Electricity Company cut power to some affected areas as a precaution against the flooding.
