Bolivia and Paraguay have formally completed the demarcation of their shared border, concluding an 88-year process rooted in the Chaco War.
- Bolivia's foreign ministry said the two countries' technical committees completed full demarcation of their roughly 755-kilometer international border following a three-day meeting in La Paz.
- The final agreement settled the last pending 3.5-kilometer border sector along the Río Negro river, after data gathered by high-precision drones was matched with government documents.
- The dispute dates to the 1932–1935 Chaco War, which killed between 80,000 and 100,000 people and ended with a 1938 peace treaty that launched the demarcation effort.
- Paraguay's foreign ministry said the two countries will become the only ones in South America with fully demarcated borders.
