Far-right Israeli politicians have openly violated the Status Quo at the al-Aqsa mosque compound, while reports suggest possible changes to its governance.
- Moshe Feiglin, a right-wing Israeli politician, prayed and sang religious songs at the al-Aqsa compound with a group of Jews, contravening the Status Quo.
- Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir led nationalists through East Jerusalem to the compound on Jerusalem Day, chanting "The Temple Mount is ours."
- Middle East Eye reported that a new Israeli body would declare the compound a "multi-faith centre"; US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he had no knowledge of those reports.
- The Israeli prime minister's office has repeatedly said there has been no change to the Status Quo at the site.
