Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly convened officials Wednesday to review preparations for a World Economic Forum country business meeting that Cairo will host in November.
- Madbouly chaired the meeting with Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Investment Minister Mohamed Farid Saleh to follow up on arrangements for the forum meeting, the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East.
- Abdelatty said more than 50 senior executives of major international companies partnering with the forum are expected to attend, along with invited Egyptian firms.
- Abdelatty said the proposal followed President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's participation in the forum's January 2026 annual meeting, and would address Egypt's economic prospects, investment opportunities, and its role as a trade, logistics, and energy hub.
- Madbouly ordered the formation of a working group comprising cabinet, foreign ministry, and investment ministry representatives to handle organization and logistics.
