Yemen's foreign minister has accused the Houthis and armed groups in the Horn of Africa of forming a "terrorist axis" threatening navigation through Bab el-Mandeb.
- Al-Zouba wrote in The Telegraph that the "Red Sea Axis" links Houthis with groups including al-Shabaab and demands sanctions listings and intelligence sharing.
- She cited UN expert panel reports documenting arms transfers, drone training, and joint operations between Houthis and al-Shabaab.
- Yemeni coast guards intercepted smuggled drone components and rescued 14 sailors from a Houthi attack on an Indian-flagged vessel, she said.
- Houthi political bureau member Hizam al-Asad denied such ties, saying some UN reports rely on "misleading Saudi sources."
- US officials warned of a growing Houthi–al-Shabaab alliance, saying the Houthis sold weapons and trained hundreds of al-Shabaab fighters in Yemen.
