Jaguar has launched the Type 01, its first fully electric vehicle since a rebrand that drew criticism from traditionalists who called it 'woke.'
- Jaguar, owned by JLR, unveiled the Type 01 on Wednesday, a fully electric four-door grand tourer.
- The Type 01 will be available from early 2027, priced from £130,000 ($172,000) in the UK and $130,500 in the US.
- JLR announced last month it will cut 4,000 jobs, citing Chinese competition, US tariffs and the transition to electric.
- West Midlands mayor Richard Parker called on the government to slash electric vehicle targets to protect the sector.
