Yemeni President Rashad al-Alimi has announced the start of military operations to retake territory held by the Iran-backed Houthis across the country.
- Alimi said in a televised address on Sunday that forces would begin operations to regain the republic's remaining territory and extend state authority nationwide.
- The Houthis announced ballistic missile and drone strikes on Saudi Aramco sites in Riyadh and the Khurais oil field, saying both attacks achieved their objectives.
- The Houthis cut a vital supply route linking Taiz with Aden, effectively encircling the government-held city, three Yemeni military sources told AFP.
- Government forces hit Houthi targets in Sanaa, Saada and near Taiz on Saturday, intensifying a campaign that escalated after the Houthis seized the Red Sea coast in September.
- The Yemeni Armed Forces said they carried out 1,122 operations against Houthi positions across fronts in Saada, Al-Jawf, Taiz and the coast.
