US Army deploys roughly 3,000 troops in Israel

Security sources said the US Army has deployed about 3,000 troops in Israel, with reinforcements planned amid anticipation of regional escalation.

• The deployment covers air-defense systems, pilots, technical support, logistics, and field headquarters, sources told the Israeli site Walla.
• The sources said some US units were replaced in recent weeks through routine rotation, with more forces and aircraft scheduled in coming weeks.
• A senior security source said hostile parties factor in Israeli and US elections and are studying attacks aimed at destabilization without triggering a wide confrontation.
• The sources said Iran is assessing whether the United States is prepared to launch a campaign against it and is negotiating accordingly.
