- Mahmoud Khalil filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court on July 14, alleging Trump officials and pro-Israel groups conspired to target him for his support of Palestinian rights.
- Khalil, arrested in March 2025 and detained for 104 days, said at a press conference the lawsuit aims to expose a "coordinated, ongoing campaign" to punish those who speak out for Palestinian liberation.
- A White House spokesperson said Khalil obtained his visa by willfully failing to report information and that those who lie to enter the United States will face justice.
