Egypt's Supreme Media Regulatory Council has referred Zamalek's complaint against derby broadcast director Waleed Farouk to two committees for review.
- The council received Zamalek's complaint accusing Farouk of deliberately amplifying Ahly fans' offensive chants against Zamalek during the live broadcast of the October 11 derby.
- Council head Khaled Abdelaziz referred the complaint to the complaints committee, led by Essam El-Amir, and the sports media performance committee, led by Abdel Salam El-Naggar.
- Zamalek stated the broadcast violated societal values and the media honor charter, demanding legal action against the director under Media Law 180 of 2018.
- The club separately filed complaints with the clubs association over fan chants and with the football federation over the refereeing crew's selection.
