Cyclospora outbreak reaches 2,800 cases as officials cite challenges from health funding cuts

A cyclospora outbreak has infected more than 2,800 people in Michigan and Ohio, with hundreds of additional suspected cases reported across 31 states.

• State health officials in Michigan and Ohio reported 2,640 and 177 cases respectively, while the CDC reported 843 confirmed and 1,500 suspected cases across 31 states.
