Jerome Boateng has begun work as assistant coach at Turkish club Trabzonspor under manager Thomas Reis.
- Boateng, a 2014 World Cup winner, expressed "pride and great joy" over his new role in an Instagram post, saying he learns daily from Reis and his staff.
- The former defender will work with players including Mohamed Salah, who joined Trabzonspor from Liverpool earlier this year; the club sits fifth in the Turkish league.
- The role follows a failed bid to join Bayern Munich's coaching staff last year after fan protests over a 2024 German court conviction for intentionally causing bodily harm, which Boateng denies.
