Egypt's Ministry of Education has issued regulations governing the delivery of tablet computers to first-year secondary students and eligible education staff for the 2026 school year.
- Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif issued a periodic book setting the procedures for distributing tablets to first-year secondary students.
- The ministry said tablets go only to students and staff of government, language, and technological baccalaureate schools, excluding private and home-based students.
- Students and guardians must sign a unified receipt form, and the device is a personal trust returned when the secondary stage ends.
- Schools must retain original receipt forms and register device serial numbers (IMEI) in lists certified by the principal.
- The ministry requires students and guardians to sign an undertaking to safeguard the tablet from damage, loss, or tampering, paying its full value if damaged or lost.
- Repair costs caused by the student are to be paid at authorized Samsung service centers in Egypt.
