- Algeria's Defense Ministry announced on August 30 it deployed four Sukhoi Su-30 fighters to Niamey to support Niger's army.
- Niger's Defense Minister Salifou Mody said soldiers tried to detain colleagues at Air Base 101 and fired on strategic sites during the night of August 28–29.
- Mody added that security forces intervened and gradually regained control of the targeted locations.
