Al-Azhar Grand Imam hails UN states backing Palestinian cause, says unconditional support for occupation won't last

Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, said in a Facebook post Thursday he salutes UN states that supported the Palestinian cause.

• El-Tayeb praised countries that took "courageous stances" for the Palestinian cause at the UN, saying the voice of truth remains present.
• He said the occupation's reliance on unconditional global support to pass its crimes without accountability will not last forever.
• He said Palestine is a matter of justice, dignity, and honor, not a negotiable political file.
• He affirmed Al-Azhar will remain supportive of the Palestinian people until they establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
