Egypt permits 42 citizens to hold foreign nationalities alongside Egyptian citizenship

Egypt's Interior Ministry has authorized 42 citizens to acquire foreign nationalities while retaining Egyptian citizenship, according to the official gazette.

• The ministry issued decisions 1493 and 1494 of 2026, each permitting 21 citizens to naturalize with foreign nationalities while keeping Egyptian nationality.
• Decision 1493 covers naturalization with American and German nationalities, among others including French, Romanian, Russian, and Canadian.
• Decision 1494 covers British and Canadian nationalities, among others including American, Russian, Italian, and Sudanese.
