President Trump has warned Bombardier it can no longer sell jets in the United States unless it moves manufacturing there, drawing a rebuttal from the Canadian firm and Quebec's premier.
- Trump announced that Bombardier can no longer sell jets in the US unless it builds them there, writing on Truth Social that the company must stop treating America "like a piggybank."
- Bombardier said its US operations, including a Kansas factory employing 3,500 American workers, support tens of thousands of jobs through a supply chain of some 2,800 companies in 47 states.
- The threat landed hours before Canadian retaliatory tariffs took effect on $20bn of US goods, after trade talks between the two countries collapsed last month.
- Quebec Premier Christine Fréchette said Quebec will not allow anyone to dictate where its companies must produce to access a market, and offered Bombardier's CEO full provincial support.
