Egypt delivers 20 electric buses for the Ring Road BRT system

Egypt has delivered 20 electric buses to the transport ministry for the Bus Rapid Transit system along the Ring Road in Greater Cairo.
- Manal Awad, Egypt's local development and environment minister, announced the delivery of the buses to operate within the BRT system on the Ring Road.
- The buses were handed over under the World Bank-funded Greater Cairo air pollution and climate change management project, in cooperation with manufacturer MCV.
- National project coordinator Mohamed Hassan said the delivery falls under the project's third component supporting low-emission transport and improved air quality.
- Hassan stated specialized training programs with MCV were carried out to ensure sustainable operation and maintenance of the new technology.
