Sundowns coach Cardoso addresses Al Ahly links, praises Imam Ashour

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has publicly addressed reports linking him to Al Ahly, saying his active contract bars him from negotiations.

• Questioned for the first time about Al Ahly's reported approach, Cardoso said he cannot speak with any club while contracted to Sundowns.
• Cardoso said he would be honored to coach Al Ahly, which he respects highly, but remains committed to Sundowns.
• Cardoso said Egyptian midfielder Imam Ashour showed impressive abilities and that he told Ashour so when they met.
• Cardoso said Al Ahly's absence leaves strong clubs, including Zamalek and Pyramids, competing fiercely in the African Champions League.
