A security researcher has launched a website naming major apps and services that still do not offer passkeys as a login option.
- Scott Helme created whynopasskeys.com to list companies that do not support passkey authentication.
- Helme wrote in a blog post that "a list is a surprisingly effective motivator. Nobody wants to be on the list."
- The website states that one in four major apps and services, including Instagram, Netflix, and Spotify, do not offer passkeys.
- Apple, Google, and Microsoft are among the companies that do offer passkeys to users.
