A military court in Aleppo has issued its second round of verdicts in Syria's March 2025 coastal violence case, imposing death sentences and prison terms.
- The court sentenced former regime members Wadah Ismail and Maher Ali to death and Mahir Othman to 12 years in prison.
- It sentenced Defense Ministry member Mohamed Bakour to 20 years for deliberate murder and Ammar Abdelal to three years for torture.
- The court acquitted Abdul Raouf Bakr and Mohamed Zarzouri of intentional murder charges for lack of evidence.
- The second round follows a first sentencing session in September that issued death, life, and 20-year terms.
- The verdicts are the first time members of the new government's security forces have been tried for violence in the March 2025 coastal events.
