Eurozone producer prices rise 5.9% annually in May

Preliminary Eurostat data showed industrial producer prices in the euro area increased 5.9% year-on-year in May, led by a 14% rise in energy costs.
- Eurostat reported that industrial producer prices rose 0.2% monthly in both the euro area and the EU in May, following larger increases in April.
- On an annual basis, producer prices increased 5.9% in the euro area and 5.7% in the EU compared to May 2025.
- Energy prices rose 14% year-on-year in the euro area and 14.3% in the EU, while falling 1% month-on-month.
- Excluding energy, producer prices rose 0.7% in the euro area in May.
