Confidential documents obtained by the Washington Post reveal donors to Donald Trump's new White House ballroom project, which has raised $333 million in private pledges.
- The documents show 67 donations exceeding $10,000 each, including at least $77 million from anonymous donors, short of Trump's $400 million target.
- Nvidia, Apple, the Adelson family and Charles Ergen each pledged $25 million; companies holding federal contracts contributed roughly half the total.
- Ergen pledged after the FCC dropped an investigation into his firm, and Salesforce donated after securing a military contract, though the Post established no causal link.
- The White House denied conflicts of interest and threatened to prosecute those who leaked the documents; the Supreme Court allowed construction to resume on August 31.
- Defense contractor Lockheed Martin, Microsoft and Palantir each pledged $10 million to the ballroom project.
- Google contributed $22 million to the project as part of a legal settlement with Trump.
- Neither Elon Musk nor Trump himself appears on the donor list, despite Trump's earlier claim he would partially fund it.
