CAF sets Confederation Cup group-stage seedings ahead of Cairo draw

CAF will hold the Confederation Cup group-stage draw Wednesday in Cairo, with defending champions USM Alger and Egypt's Al Ahly placed in the top pot.

• The draw takes place at 1:00 pm Cairo time, with 16 clubs divided into four seeded pots.
• Al Ahly qualified by beating Uganda's Kitara 6-1 on aggregate and was placed in Pot 1.
• Holders USM Alger and Morocco's AS FAR were also placed in Pot 1 alongside Al Ahly.
• CR Belouizdad's top-seed place remains pending after CAS accepted Horoya Conakry's appeal over ASC SNIM's qualification, suspending the pair's ties.
