GLP-1 weight loss drugs reshape wedding dress industry

Bridal stores and designers are altering contracts and services to accommodate the growing number of brides losing weight on semaglutide before their weddings.

• A survey by Zola found that 10% of engaged couples use semaglutide, and 42% said GLP-1s made them feel they should look a certain way.
• David’s Bridal launched a fit guarantee to ensure dresses fit up to the wedding day, even if a different size is needed.
• Atlanta-based designer Anne Barge updated contracts requiring brides to disclose planned weight loss and pay for a new gown if size changes drastically.
• Plastic surgeon Dr Darren Smith reported a surge in skin laxity procedures and breast augmentations among brides using semaglutide.
