Berlin prosecutors have charged a 68-year-old man with 22 counts of aggravated rape involving 14 women, suspected of targeting 58 victims.
- Prosecutors said the man is accused of meeting women on dating platforms, plying them with sedatives and alcohol, and filming the attacks.
- The investigation began in March 2025 after the suspect appeared in chat logs of another man under investigation, and a forensic specialist later found video evidence on his devices.
- Justice Minister Stefanie Hubig proposed extending the statute of limitations for rape from five to 20 years and introducing a minimum five-year sentence for using date-rape drugs.
