Egypt and UNCCD launch preparations for Egypt hosting COP18 in 2028

Egypt's Agriculture Minister met the UNCCD Executive Secretary to review preparations for Egypt hosting the 18th Conference of the Parties, scheduled for 2028.
- Alaa Farouk, Egypt's Minister of Agriculture, met with UNCCD Executive Secretary Yasmine Fouad to review preparations for Egypt hosting COP18, scheduled for 2028.
- The two sides agreed to form a joint executive committee to follow up on technical and logistical arrangements for the conference.
- Farouk said the ministry will provide all forms of logistical and technical support for the conference.
- Fouad affirmed the convention's aspiration to strengthen cooperation with the Agriculture Ministry to ensure the event's success.
