Egypt exempts top 1500 high school graduates from university geographical distribution rules

A ministerial decision has exempted the top 1500 students of the 2026 general secondary certificate from geographic distribution rules and tuition fees.

• The exemption applies to 500 students from each of the science, mathematics, and literary streams.
• The students are exempted from geographical distribution rules when applying to universities.
• Tuition fees in general programs are waived after the first year if the student earns an "excellent" grade in each subsequent year.
