NBA star Kyrie Irving has pledged to pay the NFL fine imposed on Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair for displaying the name of five-year-old Hind Rajab on his eye black.
- The NFL fined Al-Shaair $11,941 for wearing Hind Rajab's name on his eye black during the Texans' game against the Buffalo Bills.
- Irving responded on X that he would "take care" of the fine.
- Al-Shaair received a similar fine in January for displaying "Stop the Genocide" on his eye black.
- The Israeli military acknowledged last month that it opened fire on the car carrying Rajab and six family members and launched a criminal investigation into the killing.
- The Texas chapter of CAIR criticized the NFL for a double standard, noting it did not object to coaches wearing pins tied to Robert Kraft's campaign against Jew-hatred.
