The Trump administration has asked Washington state to set aside ballots from more than 400 suspected noncitizen voters, its third such state challenge this month.
- The Justice Department letter told Secretary of State Steve Hobbs it identified 1,500 votes cast by more than 400 people in prior elections.
- Acting US Attorney Charles Neil Floyd said the 405 voters found so far were a fraction of the total because the state limited the investigation.
- Hobbs said he was reviewing the request and called its timing, one week before the election, intended to cast suspicion on the results.
