(opens the publisher’s site)Al Ahly has asked the Egyptian Football Association for foreign referees for its November 23 Egyptian Premier League match against Pyramids.
- Wael Gomaa, Al Ahly's football director, confirmed the club requested foreign referees for the Pyramids match.
- Al Ahly previously used a Slovenian refereeing crew for its league match against Zamalek.
- The club agreed to cover all refereeing costs, to be deducted from its $350,000 Super Cup prize money.
- A club source said the new letter reaffirms Al Ahly's earlier position rather than submitting a fresh request.
