(opens the publisher’s site)Paris Saint-Germain has announced that left-back Nuno Mendes will be sidelined for several weeks with a left thigh injury.
- PSG stated in a medical update Sunday that Mendes will miss several weeks after injuring his left thigh in Saturday's 3-1 win over Strasbourg.
- Mendes left the pitch in the 85th minute after coming on as a substitute in the 53rd, leaving PSG to finish with 10 men.
- The injury rules the Portuguese defender out of Tuesday's Champions League third-round match against Barcelona at Parc des Princes.
- Luis Enrique said the club chose not to risk the player and will evaluate his condition the following day.
