Egypt's Ministry of Education has issued Decision No. 143 of 2026 regulating fees, fines, and payments for students at official language and distinguished official language schools.
- The decision, published in the official gazette, sets rules for paying fees, fines, subscriptions, additional service charges, and book prices by students at all educational levels.
- Payments are made into the Educational Projects Support, Financing, Management and Construction Fund through contracted electronic collection points and post offices nationwide, using the student's national ID number.
- The fund distributes shares to schools, administrative departments, educational directorates, and the ministry's general office according to ratios specified in the decision.
- Fees apply to students at official language and distinguished official language schools under the system used in comparable Arabic-curriculum schools, per the annual ministerial decision.
- The decision allocates 80% of proceeds to the school, 1% each to the education directorate, central administration, and support fund, and 8% as a strategic reserve.
- It sets bonuses at up to 150% of base salary for school principals, 125% for deputies, and 100% for teachers of foreign-language subjects.
